Mobile Image Sensor DB
An open database of the image sensors inside smartphone cameras and where they are used. Search and compare sensors and phones, and explore industry trends through charts.
Overview
Smartphone camera sensor information is scattered across manufacturer announcements, review sites, and component catalogs, and many OEMs never publish sensor part numbers. It is hard to see which phone uses which sensor, or how sensor specs have evolved.
Mobile Image Sensor DB normalizes 440+ mobile image sensors and per-camera sensor mappings for 500+ smartphones. Every value keeps its source and confidence, and official manufacturer data outranks secondary catalogs.
Features
- Data overview dashboard — pixel pitch vs resolution chart with multi-manufacturer filter
- Sensor catalog — search, sort, and compare by resolution, optical format, and pixel pitch
- Phone catalog — per-camera sensor mappings for main, ultra-wide, telephoto, and more
- Source URLs, confidence, aliases, and manual overrides preserved per value
- Read-only JSON API and public CSV/JSON exports
How It Works
Collect
Collector agents pull sensor and phone data from manufacturer, review, and catalog sources.
Normalize
Aliases are merged and values tagged with source and confidence in a SQLite schema.
Validate
Validation scripts and low-confidence audits catch conflicts before changes are reviewed.
Publish
Data is exported to D1 and static JSON and served on Cloudflare Pages.
